Hadleigh is a beautiful market town set in the heart of the rolling Suffolk countryside. There are not many towns of this character left in Britain today and there is something for everyone in this lively community. Its medieval charm is a Mecca for tourists, there is a thriving business spirit, lots of clubs for the active and many green spaces and a nature reserve for relaxation.

The High Street is lined with marvellous timber framed houses and a wide range of interesting shops, pubs and restaurants. Visit on a Saturday morning or market day (Friday) to experience the exuberant hustle and bustle of shoppers and local farmers who stop to greet old friends as they sort out their weekly errands.

Within minutes of the town centre you can visit the Deanery Tower with its polygonal turrets built in 1495, St Mary's church, the cricket meadow, 3 children's play areas, a swimming pool, East House community center, the market place and a war memorial. The River Brett winds its way from the North edge of the town, parallel to the High Street, under picturesque Toppesfield Bridge, through a mill pool and then on to Higham where it joins the River Stour in Constable country. There is an excellent circular walk that takes in the high street the and a nature reserve in just 30 minutes. Other local tourist attractions include Kersey, Lavenham and Dedham.

Hadleigh can offer ramblers a wide range of scenic strolls along disused railway lines through nature reserves and there is a vast selection of leisure activities. Do visit the local delicatessen for personal service, the Royal Bengal for excellent cuisine, Partridges for everything you always wanted and didn't know where to find or Hadleigh Building Supplies for the materials to build a home in this wonderful traditional Suffolk town.

All in all Hadleigh in Suffolk (not to be confused with Hadleigh in Essex) is a good place to live and work and an excellent place to visit for a day, a week or much much longer.
